Apache Tears are a form of Obsidian, which is a Volcanic Glass.  Apache Tears are more gentle in effect than Black Obsidian.  They are transparent when held up to the light and look a bit like very dark Smoky Quartz.  Apache Tears are legendary for their ability to heal grief.  They are also grounding, provide protection and help one to overcome victimization, grievances, resentment and other types of emotional baggage.
